Hmmm, let me see, where do I start? At the beginning of course!
In 1996 I was asked to join Katafalk by Chris (still here) after
he had seen a performance of my first band (Immortalized). I doubted
for about three weeks and said yes! We were
making primitive black
metal back then with also a lot of classical heavy and thrash metal spawn
into it. After recording the first demo (tape… haha)
we began to change line-ups. People were coming and leaving and basicly
the name Katafalk grew in the underground but not too many people had
actually seen us. This started to change after the recording of “Promo 2001”. Nevertheless,
Jurjen (bass), Martin (drums) and myself started out with Obtuse,
a band quite different to Katafalk but also very fast metal.
Till
I heard that it wasn’t working out within Katafalk and they needed a
singer and bass player again. Jurjen and I didn’t have to think about
it twice and jumped into the adventure again. We already helped out
recording the "Storm Of The Horde" album and now we're back
for real! We can combine this very well with Obtuse and the other
bands we do (Winter of Sin, Them Apples) so we will make
the best out of it!
Furthermore
I am a professional painter and am very interested in art. Van Gogh, Cezanne,
Bruegel, Keifer are but a few of the artists I admire.
Metal is the great escape out of this fucking boring, dull and crowded
life!!! So stop complaining and start to rape some instruments….
