is held March 07 in
Hedon – Zwolle (NL). Other acts to appear are: Detonation, The
Embodiment, Victimizer and Deathrage. Proceeds go to KWF Kankerbestrijding.

rhythm section - live substitutes announced
Jurjen (bass) announced his departure from KATAFALK, citing time constraints.
We parted ways on good terms and had a blast on his last gig, headlining the
Sodom Metal Fest in Winschoten. We're still looking for a suitable
replacement. Interested parties may apply, but will have large shoes to fill!
Meanwhile, regular stand-in Henke (God Dethroned) will substitute live.
Next to that, Martin (drums) broke his right foot, making it unable for him
to play drums the coming time. Replacing him live will be former KATAFALK
drummer Michiel van der Plicht (Prostitute Disfigurement, Toxocara), busting
the cans on the Battle In The North Fest this Saturday in Stadskanaal. We're
scheduled to play early so be on time! Details here.
In other news, we recently uploaded some new songs to our MySpace/mp3
player. One of them is "God
Pollution" (coming off our 2006 "Death's Contradiction" MCD).

A message to let you know we're still alive, just kept it low profile for a
while.
Here’s what
happened in the past few months:
First off, Jurjen (bass) became the proud father of a beautiful baby girl
Vera. He's the second dad in the band as Niels (guitars) has an already two
year old daughter Rose. Thanks go out to GD Henke for replacing Jurjen on
bass when needed. Horns up!
Secondly, friends, family and colleagues at work kept reminding us they saw
us on TV again. Now we don't watch that much TV, but as it seems the bol.com
commercial featuring guitarists Chris & Niels (airing first in 2006) was
put back into heavy rotation some while ago. For those of you who still haven’t seen it: download it here or search for it on YouTube.
Furthermore, we’ve
been writing and perfecting new material like we always do. Later!

Henk 'Henke' Zinger of GOD DETHRONED will be filling in on bass as Jurjen
(bass) is not able to make it the coming period. Henke is returning the
favour as Jurjen also filled for Henke during God Dethroned's European tour
with The Haunted in 2005!

up folks!
Since a long time another news update
from the KATAFALK camp. For those of you wondering what the f*ck's
been taking us so long: we've keeping ourselves busy with all kinds of boring
and not so boring things such as working jobs, raising families, touring
session for other bands and even spending months away on other continents. In
between we also did some gigs which turned out great as ever, compliments go
out to returned drummer Martin who bravely tackles KATAFALK's blastbeats and doublebass parts like in the
old days. Now for the big news:
New release!
KATAFALK's next
release will be the 'Death's
Contradiction' EP
- out now, released and primarily available via the band itself. Check out
the cover artwork here. Clocking over 20
minutes, this mini album contains all of the songs recorded earlier at Soundlodge studio with knobmaster
Jörg Uken. It also
still features previous drummer Michiel
before he left to join PD
(cheers bro!). Stunning artwork was created by Fred van Hardeveld, CD's are
professionally pressed and come with jewelcase and 8 page booklet. To
celebrate the release, we've put up opener "She's My Darkness" next to
the title track on MySpace. Order your copy here!

14-07-2005: Katafalk
part ways with drummer, announce replacement
Katafalk parted ways with drummer Michiel, who wants to concentrate on his
duties in Prostitute Disfigurement (which is -not totally coïncidently- the
ex-band of Katafalk guitarist Niels van Wijk). We want to thank Michiel for
3.5 years of service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours!
Former Katafalk skinsman Martin (also in Obtuse) has stepped right up to
reclaim his place behind the kit. Martin played drums in Katafalk during
1998-2001 so that's a welcome back to the family! Speaking of family,
guitarist Niels is expecting his first-born child anytime soon so we are
forced to cancel our appearance at the Rotting in the Sun Fest in Ieper/Ypres
(B). We'll
blow your heads off later!

"Prior to the festival, we finished recording 4 new songs which are now
being mixed in Germany.
These will be used for promotional activities (such as landing a new record
deal as CBI went RIP) and we might post some mp3's here as well. Songtitles
are: "Death's Contradiction", "God Pollution", "War
Chant" and "She's my Darkness". These songs are a bit
lengthier than previous material and show a natural progression, still
capturing all elements of the Katafalk sound. Stay tuned!"
